What’s the difference between quartz and quartzite?
Quartz is an engineered, manufactured product that combines pigments, Quartz, and resin elements. Alternatively, Quartzite is a natural stone organically formed deep within the earth.
How do I clean my natural stone kitchen countertop?
Avoid common cleaning agents on natural stone, like bleach, vinegar, abrasive cleaners, or any commercial cleaners containing harsh chemicals, like bleach. Always use gentle cleaning products and sponges on your natural stone surfaces. A mild dish detergent, mild soap with warm water, or actual natural stone cleaners found in various stores are suitable for daily cleanings.
How do create a budget for my new kitchen countertops?
Kitchens in general are high traffic, high use area of your home. Not all materials are durable, scratch and dent resistant or heat resistant. The most important factors to consider when creating a budget is material type, project size which includes cutouts, waste, that determines the number of slabs needed, thickness, and edgework.
How do I select what type of stone to use for my project?
Always begin your search with the project location in mind. For example, high traffic areas that are used often like kitchen countertops, you want to select a durable stone like granite or quartz. Then create a budget to shop for stones that best fit, function, and style.
How do I choose a stone fabricator/installer?
Think of the 3Rs when choosing the right company. Are they reputable? Ensure the company is legitimate and credible. How are their reviews? Read what their customers or clients are saying about them. Learning first hand is irreplaceable. Lastly, make sure they are respectful of YOU. Are they listening to your budget, timeline, and vision. Synergy no matter the project is paramount.
Do I need to purchase a whole slab?
Cost may be determined by per square footage or slab. You may find more cost-efficient options if it's an in-stock color. However, if the stone you select is a custom order slab, or your project requires more material due to project size, layout, waste, or cutouts, paying for the whole slab or buying an additional slab will be necessary.
What should I expect during the installation process for my new kitchen countertops?
What can you expect post-design consultation and selection of material? If applicable, we start by removing the existing countertops and template. Our advanced technology will create a precise countertop layout with seam location on your designated slab(s). Once approved and edgework is selected, we fabricate, deliver and install! During your consultation and based on your project details, we will discuss the timeline for installation. In general, installation occurs within 14 days.
